As a Junior Data Analyst in Zeller, you will have a core role in our Data Team, in delivering the
companyʼs data analytics efforts. Your role is to enable and support data-driven decision making
by building data models for business intelligence, developing rules for fraud detection, through to data quality assurance and governance.
Our Data Team partners across the business to provide long-term and short-term decision making support. You are comfortable working cross functionally, internally and externally driving projects and providing insight, staying multiple ‘movesʼ ahead of where we are. You will have a passion for providing data-driven insights and driving tangible business results.
This is a hands-on position where no task is too small or too big for you, ranging from day-to-day
data operations to architecting intricate long-term data solutions.
Role Responsibilities
- Data Analytics and Business Intelligence
- Analysing complex datasets from multiple sources to support briefings, reports or executive decision-making across the organisation.
- Creating dashboards for different stakeholders and providing intuitive visualisations for analysis, forecasting and continuous monitoring.
- Gathering and documenting business requirements for performance reporting, metrics computation and rule development for fraud detection.
- Applying statistical and predictive techniques to turn data into actionable insights
- Data Operations Management
- Supporting the team in designing, developing, and maintaining data pipelines and architectures.
- Ensuring data quality, security, and accessibility in alignment with best practices.
- Researching, evaluating and integrating new tools and technologies to enhance data processing and management capabilities.
- Supporting Data Scientists / Machine Learning Specialists to efficiently incorporate data requirements into the growth roadmap.
- Analytics Infrastructure Optimisation
- Working closely with cross-functional teams to deliver research insights and day-to-day analytical tools that inform decision-making.
- Utilising data analysis techniques to identify opportunities for product enhancements, process optimizations, and data asset monetization.
- Contributing to the refinement of Zeller's strategies, products, and operations through the translation of data insights into actionable business outcomes.
Your background and experience
- 1 – 2 years of experience in Data Analytics, preferably in a high growth environment.
- Solid SQL fundamentals and the ability to evaluate logic and data models.
- Ability to interpret data and translate these insights into actionable outcomes and business decisions.
- Previous exposure to Machine Learning and AI models and their applications in business use cases.
Bonus points
- Proficiency in Python, R or any programming language for data analysis (especially Python).
- Exposure to the modern data stack (dbt, Snowflake / Databricks, Git workflows, cloud environments, Airflow / Dagster, etc.) is a huge bonus.
- Knowledge of Test-Driven Development, Domain-Driven Design and Event-Driven Architecture.
- Understanding of database design principles and dimensional data modelling techniques.
- Degree in Information Systems, Data Science, Business Analytics, Statistics, or related fields.
