Job Description:

WideOrbit is looking for a top-notch Principal Software Engineer to focus on our WideOrbit Network and Traffic software solutions. WO Network is the seamless integration of WO Traffic and WO Program. It is a scalable, enterprise traffic and program software solution that enables network broadcasters to manage multiple stations, markets and groups from a single system. It includes real-time, flexible reporting that delivers extraordinary visibility and control at all levels of our customers’ business. This is Industrial Strength Programming - performance critical application development with a 3-tier, high-availability, high-volume, distributed architecture. As a Principal Software Engineer, you’ll be serving as the expert in the field who will guide the future growth and development of the products.

Here’s what success will look like:

  • Serve as an expert in the field and principal advisor. Provide, guide and use professional concepts in developing resolution to critical issues. Apply extensive knowledge of theories, practices and design matters. Lead the application of existing principles and guide development of new ideas.
  • Work on issues that impact program success or address future concepts and products. Solutions are devised based on limited information and requires judgment. Implementation of solutions requires a longer-term view which impacts strategic goals and objectives. Results impact multiple functions.
  • Exercise wide latitude in determining objectives and approaches to critical assignments. Create formal networks with key decision makers and widely recognized as expert and thought leader by both internal and external community. Serve as external spokesperson for the organization.
  • Analyze, design, program, debug and modify software enhancements and/or new products used in local, networked, cloud-based or Internet-related computer programs. Code may be used in commercial or end-user applications, such as materials management, financial management, HRIS, mobile apps or desktop applications products.
  • Use current programming language and technologies to write code, complete programming and perform testing and debugging of applications.
  • Complete documentation and procedures for installation and maintenance.
  • May interact with users to define system requirements and/or necessary modifications.

To thrive in this role, we’re looking for:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in computer science/engineering or equivalent combination of other education and experience.
  • 15 years of related experience in overall software development with a focus on Delphi.
  • Must be action and results-oriented, and able to expand and apply technical knowledge.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities to meet product deadlines.
  • Creative problem-solver who works well both independently and as part of a team; able to foster and develop others' ideas as well as their own.
  • Detail oriented and able to coordinate work streams for on-time, on-budget delivery while ensuring project details are accounted for and acted upon.
  • Effective communicator to build relationships and manage business priorities.
  • Proven ability to foster and grow a collaborative and positive team environment to solve complex software challenges.
  • Working knowledge of MS SQL is highly preferred

Location:

This position can be based in any of our WideOrbit offices or Telecommute/Remote.

Pay Range:

$170,000 - $180,000

Compensation:

The compensation range listed, and general description of other compensation and benefits will apply to this position. Various factors are considered to determine compensation ranges including market data, location, experience, qualifications, and skills. WideOrbit reserves the right to pay more or less than the salary and benefit information posted.
