We are looking for a Principal Sales Engineer in North America to join our high-caliber Sales Org! As a Principal SE, you partner with our Account Executives, collaborate with Product, cross-functionally work with Engineering & Customer Success to drive Sales cycles with existing & future customers. The ideal Sales Engineering candidate brings a strong SaaS technical foundation paired with sharp Sales competencies needed for revenue generation.
Important: This is a hybrid role. Core in-office days are Tuesday - Thursday, and it is expected that team members will be in the office at least 2 days per week.
What you'll be doing
- Own technical discovery to align prospect goals with the Staffbase solution
- Work with paired Account Executives to collaborate, build and deliver engaging value presentations to prospects
- Identify use cases to then build, communicate and demonstrate value through storytelling & deep dive product showcase
- Lead technical evaluation of the Staffbase platform with customer technical experts, navigating through their policies, limitations & techstack to ensure ‘fit'
- Positioning the Staffbase solution in its best light when crafting RFP responses by leveraging thorough knowledge of the platform’s capabilities & limitations
- Staying current with the evolving Employee Experience landscape, competitive intelligence & changing needs of organizations
What you need to be successful
- Bachelors or Masters Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Engineering, or similar
- 5+ years of experience in a SaaS Sales Engineering capacity selling to Enterprise & Strategic accounts, attaining revenue & coaching junior team members
- Manage the technical decision process with prospects, setting and managing expectations in proof of value and/or evaluations
- Excellent communication skills (verbal, written, presentations) with a focus on simplifying complex narratives through the art of storytelling
- Strong understanding of web development methodologies including hands-on experience with HTML, CSS, JS, as well as a high level understanding of SDKs
- Experience connecting with, understanding and configuration of REST API based integrations within complex, multi-system touchpoints, including data transformation.
- Knowledge of IdP framework around user authentication protocols (SAML, OIDC) and how they factor into permission structures like RBAC.
- Strong interest (and ideally experience) in the Digital workplace, Communication and/or Employee Experience verticals
- You enjoy communicating and working with prospects, while excelling in an ambiguous environment through resourcefulness & creativity
- You bring the ability to quickly understand technical concepts and effectively communicate them to technical and non-technical people
- Business fluency in English is required, Spanish a plus
