Job Summary:

The Quality Assurance (QA) Analyst will work closely with the Product, Design, and Engineering teams to ensure RoadRunner’s web and mobile applications are working properly pre- and post-release. The QA Analyst is responsible for understanding the system and documenting and executing test cases with both the users’ and the engineers’ perspectives in mind. This role is essential in helping RoadRunner meet our users’ expectations and RoadRunner’s commitment to quality.

Primary Duties Including % of time:

  • 20% - Reviews design specifications to understand the scope, requirements, and function of the product.
  • 20% - Identifies appropriate parameters, functions, and data to test and validate; parameters may include general function, validity of results, accuracy, reliability, and compliance with industry standards.
  • 30% - Conducts testing to ensure products perform according to user requirements and within established guidelines.
  • 20% - Identifies, logs, and recreates error codes, bugs, and defects.
  • 10% - When a product does not perform within specifications, reports defects to Product, Design, and Engineers while identifying and recommending solutions, improvements, and updates.

  • Interacts with: Product team, technology leadership, engineers, designers, stakeholders.

Skills and Experience:

  • 1-3 years of professional testing experience and a desire to stretch your skillset.
  • Attention to detail and the ability to identify common (happy path) and uncommon (edge case) user flows.
  • Experience creating test cases and building testing process from the ground up.
  • The agility to plan and test products for different types of users, across different interfaces and devices.
  • An ability to navigate a heavy workload and prioritize tasks based on the company's overall need.
  • A good-natured spirit and a voracious appetite for your work.
  • Enthusiasm for our sustainability driven mission.
  • Self-Driven and able to work autonomously.
  • Experience in the Agile Methodology for project management
  • Experience working with internal and external stakeholders to balance customer needs with business strategy.
  • Experience using test management software (e.g. Qase.io) is desirable.
  • Familiarity with reading and/or writing automated tests (e.g. Playwright, Cypress, Capybara) is a plus.
  • Detail oriented, possess excellent organizational skills, and have an eagerness to learn current and future business processes.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks based on the changing needs of the business and deadlines.
  • Comfort with ambiguity, ability to act without having the whole picture using sound judgment and strong decision-making skills.
  • Passionate about business results and quality, with a strong sense of accountability, metrics and ownership.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to grasp the tactical details.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills is dynamic and can capture a group’s interest and maintain it as well as the ability to facilitate meetings with diverse and sometimes conflicting points of view.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, multi-task and effectively prioritize conflicting assignments with minimal supervision.
  • Proven ability to organize/manage multiple priorities coupled with the flexibility to quickly adapt to ever changing business needs.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving. Solid decision making in a timely manner.

Preferred:

  • Experience working on product teams in a fast-growing environment.
