ABOUT NUMA

Hey there! We’re Numa, a forward-thinking hospitality brand redefining how people discover cities. We create spaces where simplicity meets innovation, offering thoughtfully designed rooms, studios, and apartments in the heart of Europe’s most vibrant neighbourhoods.
We’re not just transforming the guest experience—we’re revolutionizing the hospitality industry from the inside out. Our cutting-edge technology streamlines operations, delivering unparalleled value with no hidden fees—just real, quality experiences.
At Numa, we believe that travel should be curious and authentic, and we bring those same values to our work culture. As part of our team, you’ll experience a dynamic and supportive environment where creativity thrives, and your contributions make a real impact. We’re committed to fostering a diverse, inclusive, and equitable workplace where every voice is valued, and different perspectives fuel our innovation.

ABOUT THE ROLE

At Numa, we’re building a modern, serverless platform that powers the future of hospitality. Our backend runs on AWS (Lambda, SQS, SNS, DynamoDB, RDS) with Node.js, TypeScript, and NestJS. The frontend is powered by Next.js and React. It’s a reliable, scalable system that evolves as fast as we do. Learn more about our Product & Tech team.

As a Senior Backend Engineer, you will:

  • Design, build, and optimize high-performance backend services
  • Ensure stability, scalability, and security of our serverless stack
  • Drive architectural discussions and establish best practices in testing, deployment, and monitoring
  • Mentor engineers and foster a culture of technical excellence
  • Collaborate across teams to shape the future of hospitality tech

ABOUT YOU

We value passion and potential just as much as experience. If this role sparks your interest, we’d love to hear from you, even if you’re not an exact match. Ideally, you bring:

  • 5+ years in professional backend engineering
  • Expertise in TypeScript, Node.js, and API design
  • Solid experience with AWS (Lambda, SQS, SNS, DynamoDB, RDS)
  • Knowledge of CI/CD workflows
  • A self-starter mindset with a drive to innovate
