Salary: $65k - $75k

We are looking to hire an experienced diamond professional to join our NYC Office. As a Diamond Procurement Executive, you are a vital link in ensuring our customers have seamless access to the diamonds they need, precisely when they need them. This role requires fluency in the diamond trade, leveraging your industry expertise and Nivoda’s proprietary tools to handle memo requests efficiently. You will fulfil memo orders by identifying supply and suggesting replacements from suppliers in India, local US markets, and Nivoda’s inventory. You will negotiate just-in-time (JIT) pricing, and oversee last-mile delivery to ensure customer satisfaction.

This role will report to the Memo and Express Lead and collaborate closely with the Memo Revenue Manager and local NY operations team. We’re looking for someone who thrives in a dynamic, hands-on environment, understands and interprets customer needs, and is eager to join our gritty, fast-paced team in NYC to deliver unmatched service to our customers.

What you'll do

  • Manage Memo Orders: Steward customer memo requests to suppliers, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and satisfaction. Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to guarantee fulfillment, including sourcing diamonds from global suppliers, local markets, and in-house inventory.

  • Manage Suppliers: Monitor supplier performance to include on-time delivery and adherence to quality standards, ensuring operational excellence and the ability to meet customer demands. Quickly address any performance failures with suppliers, collaborating closely with our internal supplier management team.

  • Suggest Replacements: Use industry knowledge and proprietary models to recommend replacement stones and alternatives when requested inventory is unavailable.

  • Negotiate Prices: Negotiate competitive JIT pricing with suppliers, securing optimal margins while ensuring timely delivery. Monitor market trends and supplier relationships to maintain pricing competitiveness and availability.

  • Coordinate Inventory: Collaborate with the inventory team to ensure alignment on stock availability, quality, and specifications. Identify gaps in inventory coverage and proactively suggest acquisitions or alternative sourcing strategies.

  • Support Last Mile Fulfilment: Partner with logistics and operations teams to ensure diamonds are delivered on time, leveraging ultra-fast delivery options when necessary. Oversee the final stages of fulfillment, ensuring orders meet customer expectations and maintain operational excellence.

  • Collaborate and Feedback: Act as the primary liaison between the Memo team and customers, providing feedback to improve service offerings. Work closely with cross-functional teams, including Memo Revenue Manager, operations, and suppliers, to enhance workflow efficiency and customer satisfaction.

What you'll need

  • 3-5 years in the diamond industry, preferably with experience in diamond buying or working with wholesalers or Memo houses.

  • Deep knowledge of diamond sourcing, pricing structures, and industry dynamics.

  • Strong negotiation skills with a proven ability to secure favorable terms with suppliers.

  • Operational aptitude with an eye for detail and accuracy in managing orders and inventory

  • Customer-centric, entrepreneurial, and solutions-oriented.
