Role Overview

As a Product Manager II, you are responsible for driving the strategy and execution of Housecall Pro's Identity and Access Management platform. You lead the technical infrastructure that powers secure identity management, access control, and authentication systems across our entire product ecosystem. Working with internal engineering teams as your primary customers, you own the product roadmap for core IAM capabilities that directly enable the Pro experience.

You own a technical product domain spanning identity lifecycle management, role-based access control, session security, multi-factor authentication, and API integrations. Your product strategy focuses on building scalable, secure infrastructure that other product teams can reliably consume to deliver customer value. Working closely with engineering, security, and cross-functional product teams, you define the right technical requirements, system architecture, and developer experience to accelerate company-wide product delivery.

What you do each day:

Think

  • Identify technical opportunities and define product vision for IAM infrastructure using system analysis and security best practices
  • Analyze internal team requirements and technical constraints to inform product priorities
  • Write and present technical strategy documents and system architecture overviews

Explore

  • Collaborate with engineering teams, security stakeholders, and product teams to validate technical problems and co-create scalable solutions
  • Partner with internal development teams to understand API requirements and developer experience needs
  • Conduct technical research to evaluate authentication technologies, security frameworks, and integration approaches

Plan

  • Create and communicate a clear technical product roadmap balancing infrastructure foundations with feature enablement
  • Coordinate with engineering teams to align on system architecture and technical implementation approaches
  • Plan day-to-day operations of the product team in an agile environment

Build

  • Drive the execution of building APIs, authentication systems, and access control infrastructure while maintaining momentum across engineering teams
  • Collaborate with security and platform teams to develop technical specifications and integration guidelines
  • Lead technical optimization efforts to improve system performance, security posture, and developer experience

Launch & Learn

  • Pull together everything needed to effectively launch, measure, learn, and iterate quickly to improve platform performance and adoption
  • Create measurement plans to monitor API usage, system performance, and internal team adoption
  • Rapidly develop post-launch technical iterations based on engineering team feedback and system metrics

Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of experience in technical product management or software engineering with focus on infrastructure, APIs, or platform development
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related technical field, or equivalent work experience
  • Strong technical background with experience in system architecture, API design, and authentication/security systems
  • Experience building application-to-application integrations and developer-facing products
  • Experience using technical analysis tools and infrastructure monitoring systems

  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with focus on scalable infrastructure solutions
  • Passion for developer experience and building platforms that enable other teams to succeed

Location Dependent Information

This role is open to candidates and the expected salary range for this role is $108,000-$135,000. The specific salary for the successful candidate will be determined based on permissible, non-discriminatory factors such as skills, experience, and geographic location. This role is also eligible to participate in Housecall Pro’s equity plan and the following benefits: health care insurance (medical, dental, vision, disability), employee assistance program, 401(K), flexible time off, paid parental leave, tech reimbursement, and other company benefits.
