What We’re Building
Honeycomb is a service for the near and present future, defining observability and raising expectations of what developer tools can do! We’re working with well known companies like HelloFresh, Slack, LaunchDarkly, and Vanguard and more across a range of industries. This is an exciting time in our trajectory, we’ve closed Series D funding, scaled past the 200-person mark, and were named to Forbes’ America’s Best Startups of 2022 and 2023!
If you want to see what we’ve been up to, please check out these blog posts and Honeycomb.io press releases.
Who We Are
We come for the impact, and stay for the culture! We’re a talented, opinionated, passionate, fiercely inclusive, and responsible group of bees. We have conviction and we strive to live our values every day. We want our people to do what they truly love amongst a team of highly talented (but humble) peers.
How We Work
We are a remote-first company, which means we believe it is not where you sit, but how you deliver that matters most. We invest in our people and care about how you orient to our culture and processes. At the same time we imbue a lot of trust, autonomy, and accountability from Day 1. #LI-Remote

Little more about the team:

In this Senior Marketing Visual Designer role, you’ll be building a recognizable brand within the relatively new category of observability, which means you'll be working across disciplines to understand the market, identify audience needs, and design digital and event-based experiences that bring to life our brand and drive business outcomes. You'll be working within a dedicated creative team (of web, design and content) that operates as a center of excellence within marketing. This team is tasked with setting our creative vision, and producing brand and campaign assets to support our marketing strategy. You will be key in helping us to inspire engineers and technical decision makers to want observability tools that empower them to investigate quickly and understand how their software behaves in a production environment.

What you’ll do in the role:

This is an opportunity to lead the design efforts of Honeycomb’s marketing team.

  • Support the rollout of a refreshed brand system across all customer touch points.
  • Assist with documenting and maintaining branding materials and guidelines.
  • Design webpages and create new UX components for Honeycomb.io, using our new digital design system.
  • Design illustrations, diagrams and product UI images for marketing webpages, content assets, social templates and the company blog.
  • Collaborate with and provide design guidance to 3rd party agencies, including a digital marketing agency and a web development team.
  • Collaborate with our content team on the development of a creative approach for video content (product demos, customer testimonials, and brand awareness campaigns).
  • Drive an iterative design process through discovery, ideation, prototyping, and design.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders in various internal teams.

What you’ll bring to the role:

  • 4-6 years of experience as a marketing visual designer, specifically developing visual layouts, illustrations and typography for websites, presentations and social channels
  • Direct experience designing for technical B2B audiences (e.g. developers) preferred
  • Proactive mindset, comfortable jumping in and prototyping to a solution
  • Familiarity working with component-based brand and digital design systems
  • Experience with tools such as Figma, Adobe Creative Cloud, Asana, etc
  • Experience with multimedia design, including web design, animation, video editing and motion graphics
  • Experience with event design, both digital and live events
  • Experience working with creative agencies and third-party web development vendors
  • Strong multitasker, able to manage multiple projects at once
  • An all-hands-on-deck mindset when it comes to sharing the vision of the design team
  • You enjoy communicating about design and are able to talk about design principles and processes in a way that’s accessible to diverse audiences
  • Every member of our team acts as an ambassador, mentor, and educator for design across Honeycomb

Base pay range for this role is $150,000- 180,000 based on level of experience

What you'll get when you join the Hive:

  • A stake in our success - generous equity with employee-friendly stock program
  • It’s not about how strong of a negotiator you are - our pay is based on transparent levels relative to experience
  • Time to recharge - Unlimited PTO and paid sabbatical
  • A remote-first mindset and culture (really!)
  • Home office, co-working, and internet stipend
  • 100% employee/75% for dependents coverage for all benefits
  • Up to 16 weeks of paid parental leave, regardless of path to parenthood
  • Annual development allowance
  • And much more...
