Who are Heidi?
Heidi is on a mission to halve the time it takes to deliver world-class care.
We believe that by 2050, every clinician will practice with AI systems that free them from administrative burdens and increase the quality and accessibility of care to patients across the world.
Built for clinicians, by clinicians, at the core of Heidi is its people. We are an eclectic bunch of inventors, builders, scientists, nurses, doctors, mathematicians, designers, creatives, and high-agency executors.
We achieve in 6 months what it takes our competitors 4 years to do. In just 12 months, 20 million patient consults were supported by Heidi, and we’re now powering more than 1 million consults every week.
With our most recent $16.6MM round of funding from leading VC firms, we’re geared up to supercharge our ambitious global growth, starting with the US, Canada, UK and Europe - and we need great people like you to get there. Ready for the challenge?
The Role
We’re looking for a Senior Full Stack Engineer with strong leadership skills to help shape and deliver world-class user experiences in our AI-powered healthcare products.
You’ll be comfortable working across the stack, but have a particular interest in crafting elegant, intuitive, and performant interfaces. You combine technical depth with a product mindset — thinking not only about how features are built, but why they matter, and how they can best serve our users.
What you’ll do:
Lead development of foundational systems: We’re looking for someone to lead the design and development of key systems such as authentication across all of Heidi’s platforms; working closely with other teams and stakeholders to build systems that enable other teams and the product roadmap.
Champion quality & maintainability: design simple and maintainable systems to solve complex problems, author tests, optimise performance and create fault tolerant systems so teams can move fast without compromising quality.
Continuously improve: drive continuous improvement by providing technical leadership and mentorship, identifying process or development bottlenecks, and working with our AI enablement team to improve both the speed and safety with which we release.
What we will look for:
5+ years experience working on complex, high-scale, or highly integrated services, with the ability to work effectively on both frontend (TypeScript, React) and backend (Python or TypeScript) services. Experience with REST/GraphQL design, domain-driven architecture, relational and NoSQL datastores.
Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a cross functional team, balance priorities from other departments and coordinate the release of your team’s features.
Cloud proficiency (GCP or AWS): containers, CI/CD, infrastructure-as-code, observability and security best practices.
A proven history of architecting and building highly available, scalable, secure & performant systems.
A product mindset — you care deeply about solving real problems for users and measuring the impact of what you build.
Bonus: Experience with authentication and identity platforms is a strong plus, especially with good understanding of security concerns and best practices across APIs, web and native/mobile.
What do we believe in?
We create unconventional solutions to difficult problems and we build them fast. We want you to set impossible goals and make them happen, think landing a rocket but the medical version.
