You Will: Drive our grocery strategy for the U.K., owning the P&L of a high-growth category. You’ll lead high-stakes negotiations with top suppliers, optimizing pricing and promotions, and using deep data insights to create the best grocery shopping experience in the country. This role is perfect for someone who thrives in high-growth, fast-paced environments and is ready to own, build, and scale.
- Build & Own the Grocery Category – Own the category P&L and build a strategy that ensures we have the right products, pricing, and promotions to hit sales, margin, and inventory efficiency targets, and drive customer loyalty.
- Manage Vendor Partnerships – Identify, negotiate, and secure partnerships with national suppliers and emerging brands, ensuring the best pricing, terms, and supply chain efficiency.
- Lead & Influence – Act as a leader within the merchandising team, mentoring others and driving cross-functional collaboration with supply chain, marketing, data and operations to elevate category performance.
- Optimize Pricing & Promotions – Leverage data to set pricing, plan promotions, and ensure customers always get great value.
- Enhance the Shopping Experience – Ensure our product selection is curated, localized, and optimized, keeping Gopuff ahead of customer needs.
- Scale & Automate – Leverage technology, data, and automation to improve category management processes and decision-making at scale.
- Stay Ahead of Trends – Identify trends, competitor strategies, and emerging customer behaviors, making proactive high-impact decisions that keep Gopuff at the forefront of instant commerce.
You Have:
- 5+ years of experience in category management, buying, merchandising, or vendor management in grocery, retail, or e-commerce (understanding digital merchandising, for high-volume, fast-moving categories a plus).
- Proven P&L ownership – You’ve led revenue, margin, and efficiency while optimizing for customer needs.
- Data-driven decision-making – You thrive in data, using insights to drive decisions and optimize performance (Excel, SQL, Tableau experience a plus).
- Expert negotiation skills – You lead high-stakes negotiations, build strong relationships, and secure top-tier terms, to create value for both Gopuff and our suppliers.
- Startup energy – You move fast, make smart decisions, and embrace ambiguity with a bias for action.
- Customer obsession – You think like a Gopuff shopper, making decisions that enhance convenience and value.
