Assistant Designer, Bags and SLG

ANINE BING is looking for an Assistant Designer specializing in bags and small leather goods to join our Design team.

The Assistant Designer is creative, detail-oriented, and organized, with a strong ability to support the design process from concept to production.

The ideal candidate thrives in a collaborative environment, is eager to learn, and demonstrates flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic setting. They are passionate about design and are committed to maintaining ANINE BING’s aesthetic and high-quality standards.

This role is based out of our Paris HQ.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the design process for bags and small leather goods, including trend research, sketching, and creating CADs.
  • Support the development of tech packs with accurate specifications and construction details.
  • Source materials and trims for designs, ensuring alignment with quality and aesthetic requirements.
  • Organize and maintain design records, including materials, trims, and sample archives.
  • Communicate with vendors to ensure timely delivery of prototypes and provide feedback on samples.
  • Help manage the design calendar and track progress to meet development deadlines.
  • Prepare boards and samples for milestone meetings and presentations.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Product Development and Production, to ensure smooth execution of designs.
  • Stay informed on industry trends and competitor products to provide design insights.

Qualifications

  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design or a related field.
  • 1-2 years of experience in a design or product development role; experience with leather goods is a plus.
  • Proficient in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and Excel.
  • Knowledge of materials, construction, and design techniques for bags and small leather goods.
  • Strong organizational skills with a keen eye for detail and accuracy.
  • Exceptional communication skills and a team-oriented mindset.
