Role Overview
The HR Team Lead will oversee Aftershoot’s people operations and talent strategy, playing a critical role in shaping our culture and scaling our workforce. You’ll lead a team of HR and recruiting professionals to design and implement initiatives that attract, retain, and develop top talent.
This role requires a strategic thinker and hands-on leader who can balance building scalable systems with fostering a mission-driven, collaborative workplace. Reporting directly to the CEO, you will be a key partner in driving Aftershoot’s growth and ensuring employee satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
Building Culture & Employee Engagement
- Develop programs to nurture a collaborative, inclusive, and high-performing company culture.
- Lead initiatives to enhance employee engagement, retention, and satisfaction.
- Serve as a trusted partner to leadership, supporting organizational growth and change.
Talent Acquisition & Recruitment
- Build and scale recruiting strategies, from sourcing and interviewing to onboarding.
- Define role expectations, interview frameworks, and structured evaluation processes.
- Source top talent through innovative approaches, focusing on both active and passive candidates.
Performance & Development
- Design and implement performance management systems, including reviews, goal-setting, and coaching frameworks.
- Empower managers and employees with tools and strategies to enhance team performance.
- Facilitate learning and development programs that drive professional growth.
Compensation, Compliance, & Operations
- Create and manage compensation frameworks, including banding and leveling.
- Oversee payroll, benefits administration, and compliance with global employment laws.
- Optimize HR systems to support a seamless employee lifecycle.
Data-Driven Strategy & Leadership
- Leverage HR analytics to inform decision-making and measure program effectiveness.
- Present strategies, insights, and updates to leadership with clarity and impact.
- Lead cross-functional projects that align with Aftershoot’s goals and mission.

- Proven ability to deliver projects at scale, balancing efficiency and effectiveness.
- Exceptional communication skills for engaging with leadership, employees, and external stakeholders.
- Expertise in scoping, designing, and mapping out effective People processes.
- Strong analytical mindset with the ability to use data to drive HR strategies.
Experience & Qualifications
- 7–10 years of experience in HR and recruiting, ideally in high-growth startup environments.
- Strong track record in performance management, compensation design, and talent acquisition.
- Practical knowledge of employment law, compliance, and payroll systems.
- Familiarity with HR tools like Keka or Hissa (preferred).
- Experience managing global, remote, or hybrid teams is a plus.
